Dr. Vivak Bhatt was born and raised in Dallas, TX. He thinks he is a cowboy, but the closest he gets… is watching his Dallas Cowboys play football on Sundays, and he is a fan... as in fanatic. Singing was his pleasure and these talents allowed him to be a part of all-state competitions and various bands.

Not traveling too far home, one hour north of Dallas to Sherman, TX., he received a B.A. in Psychology from Austin College.


Dr. Bhatt states, "My decision to go to Austin College was probably one of my best decisions as far as my schooling is concerned."

From there, his quest for a medical degree continued at Ross University School of Medicine where he "bumped" into his future wife. From then on, they were inseparable... traveling to Kansas City, New York and Chicago. They moved to Memphis for three years, to complete residency training in Family Practice; and then finally settled in Nashville, TN.

"Husband, Father, Healer is how I describe myself and how I want to remembered. One of my professors in training once told me, 'God heals, we as doctors just entertain - may be so.' Medicine is the only thing I could imagine doing ever since I was a child. Not because of pressure from family or for the status, but due to an underlying deep passion to help others and the bonus of developing a deep interpersonal relationship with others. Dr. Sushri Mishra was born and raised in Nashville, TN in the Donelson area. She graduated from high school at Hume-Fogg.

The violin was her passion, and these talents propelled her to all-state competitions in high school and a full scholarship at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, where she received a B.S. in Biology. Her medical school Ross University took her to New York and Chicago, where she met her future husband and practice partner.


Her training at the University of Tennessee in Memphis in family practice gave her expertise in the whole spectrum of medicine, with special interests in Women's Health and Pediatrics.

Together, Dr. Mishra and her husband created New Horizon Family Practice which has grown into a complete success due in part to Dr. Mishra's compassion and care for her patients. Her bed side manner makes her loved by all and is like her front yard... colorful and welcoming. Dr. Mishra would welcome the opportunity to be your doctor and lead you on a path to a happy and healthy life.
